God’s Word Never Returns Void

Across more than a century of missions history, one thing has never changed: God’s Word still transforms lives. I’ve stood in soccer stadiums filled with children, handed a Book of Hope to a single student in a classroom, and sat with families in remote villages. In each setting, I’ve watched the same miracle unfold. The Word of God goes forth, and it brings faith, healing, and salvation.

The most humbling part is realizing that the power is never in the preacher—it’s in the message itself. I’ve seen children light up as they realize for the first time that Jesus loves them personally. I’ve heard testimonies from pastors who say, “When our people received God’s Word, everything changed.” Those moments are holy reminders that God’s promise is sure: His Word never returns empty.

You don’t have to be on a mission field to witness this power. Every time you share Scripture with a coworker, pray it over your family, or post it online, you are planting seeds that God Himself will water. We may never see the full harvest, but we can live with confidence that God’s Word will do its work.

Reflect
Who in your life needs the encouragement of God’s Word? How can you share it with them this week?

Pray
Father, thank You for the power of Your Word. Give me boldness to share it with others, trusting that You will accomplish what You desire. In Jesus’ name, amen.
