DAY TWENTY-NINE — Fire from Heaven
The Tabernacle was complete, the priests had been consecrated, and the people gathered in anticipation. Sacrifices for sin, burnt offerings, and fellowship offerings were laid upon the altar as Moses and Aaron followed every command of the Lord. Then, in a moment that could not be manufactured by human hands, the glory of God appeared. Fire came from the Lord and consumed the offering, and the people could only respond with shouts of joy and faces bowed low in awe.
God’s glory is both holy and life-giving. This scene foreshadows Christ, whose perfect sacrifice opened the way for all to encounter God’s presence. God is active, personal, and powerful, never confined to ritual or routine.
The fire of God refines, consumes, and ignites. It purifies what does not belong and empowers what remains. When His presence touches our lives, we cannot remain the same.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- When have you experienced God’s glory in a way that left you in awe or transformed your perspective?
