Spare the Rod, Reclaim the Childනියැදිය

Why Discipline Still Matters
The world may call it harsh.
Culture may call it outdated.
But God still calls it holy.
Discipline is not about control. It's about correction. It's about training your child in righteousness when the world is training them in rebellion. Discipline is not punishment fueled by frustration. It is protection fueled by love.
When you discipline, you are not just managing behavior. You are shaping destiny. You are teaching your child that there are boundaries, that there is order, and that there is a God who requires obedience. Without it, children grow wild in spirit and weak in character.
Hebrews 12:11 tells us, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
Discipline is not always immediate in its results, but it is powerful in its impact. If your home feels out of order, if rebellion feels like it’s rising, it may be time to stop parenting by emotion and start parenting with spiritual authority.
You don’t need to yell louder. You need to lead clearer. God’s way still works.
Reflection:
Have I viewed discipline as a burden or a blessing? What is one area I’ve avoided correcting because I felt unsure or afraid?
Prayer Activation:
Father, help me see discipline the way You do. Give me clarity where I’ve been confused. Give me boldness where I’ve backed down. I want to parent with truth, not emotion. Restore order in my home through Your Word and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
