Review Questions for Week 5

  1. How have you been growing in Christ this week? What have you been learning?
  2. After reading 1–2 Peter, if you had to summarize in just a few bullet points what Peter wants the churches to know, what would the main things be?
  3. What things in your life cause you to be filled with hope in God’s promised future? What things draw you away from your hope and cause anxiety and fear?
  4. To the best of your ability, did you maintain the habits of a healthy Christian this week? If not, what is a meaningful step you can take next week toward acquiring each habit?

As you conclude this five-week challenge, it’s time to ask the all-important question: what’s next? The reason this study is part of our “Spring Training” resources is to keep clear that this is a period of preparation. It’s not the end goal. Training gets teams ready for the season, but the goal is to win the championship. The same should be true for us. The way to know if Spring Training: A Disciple’s Journey was really a success is what happens now, after it ends. Will these habits become permanent for you? Will you truly be transformed by them and become more like Christ as a result?

Here are a few practical things you can do to make the spiritual habits you’ve gained over the last five weeks become lasting and fruitful in your Christian life.

Things You Can Do

  1. Decide now on your next Bible reading plan.
  2. Start a prayer list that you pray over and update regularly.
  3. Commit to attend worship and Sunday School weekly in person.
  4. Find more ways to connect and serve within the church.
  5. Keep actively sharing your faith.

Now you’re trained and ready for the next season of serving our Lord!

A Disciple's Journey

Before going on a difficult journey, you need to have a plan. You also need to find people headed to the same destination, so you can encourage each other, train together, and prepare for what lies ahead. That is what A Disciple’s Journey is designed to provide. Each week, you will follow along with the apostle Peter in his journey of discipleship. With each step of his journey, we can find resonances with our own and wisdom for how to navigate the Christian life.
