Kingdom Story Company Month of the Bible Reading Planනියැදිය

Releasing bitterness is one of the hardest calls of the Christian life. Bart’s father was abusive, harsh, and unkind. From Bart’s perspective, forgiveness seemed impossible—and undeserved. When Bart returned home years later, he found his father transformed: reading the Bible, praying, and trying to make amends. Yet Bart’s first response was honest: “I can’t forgive you.”
Bart discovered his father was terminally ill. In that valley of sorrow, God gave Bart the strength to forgive—and not just forgive, but care for his father as his health declined. What seemed irredeemable became a story of healing and reconciliation.
Forgiveness doesn’t erase the past, but it releases the hold bitterness has on our hearts. And when we forgive, we often find that God redeems far more than we imagined.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- Is there someone in your life you struggle to forgive?
- How does holding onto bitterness affect your hope and freedom in Christ?
