Day 21: Practice Makes Growth
Prayer is not something we master once and for all; it’s something we practice. Just like learning an instrument, working out, or training for a sport, prayer requires persistence. Jesus’ most frequent instruction about prayer was simply this: persevere.
Often, we give up too easily, expecting instant results. But prayer is about forming a relationship with God, and relationships take time. The more we practice, the more natural prayer becomes. Over time, our prayers begin to shape how we live, and how we live shapes our prayers.
When we bring our daily lives into prayer and bring prayer into our daily lives, we discover God at work in all things. Growth in prayer does not happen overnight, but with practice, it becomes a life-giving rhythm that draws us closer to Christ.
Questions
- How might you “practice” prayer more intentionally this week?
- What daily experiences can you bring to God in prayer today?
