Coming to Life: 30-Day Devotionalනියැදිය

The Prophets
The prophets were God’s messengers, raised up to call His people back to faithfulness. They spoke truth with courage, often at great personal cost. Jeremiah was told that God had placed His words in his mouth. Isaiah responded to God’s call with a willing, “Here I am! Send me.” Amos thundered about justice and righteousness.
Yet the role of the prophet was not only to confront sin but to point to hope. Through visions, warnings, and promises, the prophets revealed God’s heart. They proclaimed judgment when Israel strayed, but also restoration when God’s people repented.
Hebrews reminds us that while God spoke through the prophets “at many times and in many ways,” His final word is spoken in Jesus. The prophets were like voices crying out in the wilderness, preparing the way for the ultimate Word made flesh.
Jesus Himself affirmed the prophets. He did not come to abolish their message but to fulfill it. Every warning of judgment, every call to justice, every promise of redemption finds its completion in Him. The prophets longed for what we now see in Christ: the perfect union of truth and grace.
The message of the prophets still speaks today. They remind us that God is holy, that sin is serious, and that justice matters. They also remind us that God is merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. Their voices call us to repentance, but also to hope in the One who has fulfilled their words.
Listening to the prophets should lead us not only to conviction but to Christ. He is the One they pointed to, the Word of God incarnate, who reveals God’s truth and secures God’s promises.
Reflection Questions
- How does the message of the prophets challenge you to live with justice and faithfulness?
- In what ways do you see Jesus fulfilling the words of the prophets?
Prayer
