Hope to Be Fearless

5 න් 4 වන දිනය

In yesterday’s plan, we found that God is always with us, regardless of the time, day, or situation, even when we disobey him. But that does not mean that fear is no longer a part of our life. Fear is a natural reaction to anything that is unknown or to anything that can have an outcome different than what we seek. The key to being fearless lies not in having no fear, but instead in overcoming fear by trusting in God.

Consider Psalm 56:3-4. David was well acquainted with fear. Surrounded by enemies, betrayed, pursued, and exhausted, he cried out: "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise — in God I trust and am not afraid" (Psalm 56:3-4, NIV).

David didn't wait for his fear to disappear before choosing to place his trust in God. Instead, he allowed his fear to point him towards hope. You can do the same. Fear is an opportunity to lean harder into the truth that God is for you, not against you.

This is not to say that because you trust in God you will never experience failures, disappointments, or pain. Scripture guarantees those things as aspects of life that all inevitably encounter.

Now, you might be asking yourself, “Why would God let failure, disappointment, and pain into my life? By trusting in God, He was supposed to lead me to great reward.”

God doesn’t ask you to understand everything. You aren’t supposed to have all the answers. The wisdom that Adam and Eve acquired when they ate the forbidden fruit led them to sin, not greatness. The same holds true today: knowledge does not equal greatness.

Instead, God asks you to trust Him, His plan for you, and ultimately His wisdom. Trusting God doesn’t mean life will be easy. It means that He will equip you with the tools you need to overcome hardship, undergo unimaginable growth, and strengthen your relationship with Him. God is leading you down a path of purpose, teaching you how to best serve Him.

He is writing your story, and no amount of fear can erase the plans He has for you. So today, trade fear for trust. Place your hope not in what you can control, but in the One who controls it all.

God, I come to You today to place my trust in You. I know that You are always with me, and I know that You have a plan for me. Help me let go of old fears and face new ones with courage. Remind me that I don’t have to have all the answers, and help me lean into Your peace. Amen.
