Read the Bible Effectivelyනියැදිය

Reasons to read God's Word
With whom are you reading this plan? Invite a friend or family member to read with you. Together you'll learn more.
Did you know that there are several motivations in the Bible for reading the Word? Not because you “have to,” but because it always brings blessing.
In this devotional, we'll examine some of those motivations, but the most important reason should come from a heart's desire to know God better, which is what happens when you read the Bible.
In addition, you also read the Bible to gain knowledge about what Jesus has done for you. Knowledge about what prophecies He accomplished and what life has been made available for you, but only gaining knowledge blows up. We must also act on that knowledge and the Word.
Let's look at what the Word says about reading the Word and its importance.
Joshua 1:8:
‘This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.'
God teaches us that if we ponder His Word day and night and learn to act on it, we will be prosperous in all ways and act wisely. These are quite good reasons to read the Word!
The more you read the Word, the better you know the truth. He who knows the truth recognizes the lie, and the truth sets free (John 8:32). Bible reading sets you free from beliefs not of God and helps you live in God's freedom.
The Word of Christ, given to us by the Holy Spirit, belongs to dwell in us in rich measure so that we can teach, refute, and correct with it.
So that we can grow spiritually (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Because the Word shows you the Father, shows you Jesus, and shows you the Holy Spirit, you get a more complete picture of God. You get to know Him and His character, which can answer questions you have about Him or the Gospel.
In short, there are plenty of reasons to read the Word of God.
Maybe you already know this and read the Bible regularly, which is great. It could also be that you read the Bible but don't notice any change in your life. Or the words don't stick. You read something, and almost immediately afterward, you forget everything. It blessed you at the time of reading, but has not descended into your heart.
This is because we have not learned to read profoundly or thoroughly. We do not read precisely or effectively. This is unfortunate because the Word of God enables you to live a victorious life.
Do you want to learn how to store the Word of God in your heart to renew you and help you learn to live from your new person? Then read on tomorrow in this Bible plan!
