Holy, Healthy, Whole: Growing Fruits of the Spirit for Weight Loss and Wellnessනියැදිය

What are the Fruits of the Spirit?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
Many of us are familiar with the fruits of the spirit as the Bible describes them:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Patience
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Gentleness
- Faithfulness
- Self-control
The fruits of the Spirit are not good works we do to earn salvation or God’s favor. The only way to salvation is through trusting in the saving work Jesus did for us on the cross.
Instead, the fruits of the Spirit are the result of abiding in God’s grace.
Have you ever considered the importance of developing the fruits of the Spirit for your weight loss journey?
During the upcoming days, you’ll learn about how love for God guides your decisions, how you can have joy while losing weight (really!), and how to have peace no matter what the scale says.
You’ll discover patience as you look ahead to your goal weight, kindness toward yourself and others when it comes to food, how to focus on goodness, and how to eat with gentleness. Finally, you’ll understand the importance of self-control and why that word doesn’t need to be wrapped with guilt.
Are you ready to develop the fruits of the Spirit as you lose weight? Let's do it together.
Reflection: Which fruit of the Spirit is missing in your weight loss journey? Why do you think that is?
Prayer: Lord God, I pray that you develop the fruits of the Spirit in my life. I want love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control to flow through me because of the work you are doing in my heart. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
