No Days Off: A 7-Day Devotionalනියැදිය

A Harvest Requires Preparation
Devotional:
Sometimes the process of change can be discouraging. When we put in effort and don’t see results right away, it can make us want to throw in the towel. But Galatians 6:8 reminds us that our spiritual lives involve sowing and reaping. If you plant in the field of your natural desires—what feels good, what comes easy, what keeps you comfortable—you’ll reap a harvest that leads nowhere. But if you plant in the field of the Spirit, investing in what feeds your soul, you will reap a harvest that lasts forever. So you have to plant the right seeds and you have to be patient.
Think about a farmer. He can’t make corn grow. He can’t force wheat to sprout. Only God can do that. But the farmer does have a job. He cultivates the soil. He plants the seed. He waters the crop. He creates the right conditions so the seed can grow.
And without that preparation? The harvest would never come.
That’s exactly what spiritual disciplines do. When you pray, when you fast, when you sit in solitude, when you dive into Scripture—not out of obligation but out of hunger—you’re preparing the soil of your heart. You’re putting yourself in a position for the Spirit to move, to stretch, to grow in you in ways you never could on your own.
You can’t change yourself. But you can train yourself. You can choose to show up. To plant good seeds. To cultivate your soul. And when you do? The Spirit of God will do what only He can do—He will grow something in you that is strong, unshakable, and full of life.
Questions:
- Where are you planting right now? In the field of the flesh or the field of the Spirit?
- What’s one spiritual discipline you can commit to this week?
- How can you create the right conditions for God to grow something new in you?
Prayer:
Lord, I don’t just want to go through the motions. I want to grow. Help me to plant in the field of the Spirit, to train for a godly life, and to show up every day with a heart that’s ready for you to move. No days off. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“No days off." That phrase is synonymous with determination, commitment, and a desire to see something through to the end. Yet, the same is true in your spiritual life. In this 7-day devotional from Todd Mullins (Senior Pastor of Christ Fellowship Church), you'll go on a journey of developing spiritual strength.
