Overcome Insecurity

The third insecurity is external, it concerns others and arises from the question:

Will I be accepted by others? That is, will I be loved, will I be credible and of value to them?

All of us, being social beings, live with this deep and unconscious need for acceptance.

From a young age, we seek the approval of our cohabiting family members such as: Parents, siblings, grandparents.

We experience a great sense of rejection when we do not feel loved, when we do not feel valued, when others do not believe in us and do not trust us.

Moses went through the same insecurity, which is why he objected to God once again, saying that he was not the right person for this task, saying: "But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, 'The Lord has not appeared to you.'"

Paraphrasing, Moses replied by saying: They will not believe me, they will call me a liar, and they will reject me as their leader for liberation!

I know, perhaps you too have thought what happened to Moses, and I can assure you that it has happened and happens to me many times too!

Do not be ashamed, do not belittle yourself because you have thought it or because perhaps it happened in the past that you were rejected by other human beings; I have good news for you today: God has not rejected you, but has chosen you and will give you credibility, courage, and authority!

Because this is what God did with Moses as well, taking a simple staff for tending sheep and making it a symbol of divine authority and credibility. But even more, to increase Moses' courage and faith, God gave him 2 other signs, as seen in Exodus 4:6–9, that he could use to demonstrate to the people of Israel that God Himself had spoken to him. History teaches us that he never needed to use these other 2 signs.
