Let the Dead Bury the Dead.

“Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:60 KJV

It’s time to bury the past. Let the past go and move forward in Christ. Choose to follow Christ. Let Christ lead your heart. Let His Word lead your home. Let His Power pierce and penetrate every area of your heart and home. When you are in Christ, your life becomes brand new. The past is history and the future is bright in Him.

Surrender to God and let the heart of your marriage follow His Heartbeat. Let His Word become the rhythm and flow of your home. Choose to surrender every aspect of your life, family, and marriage over to Christ. There is no one like Him. Choose to put the past and the old patterns away and let Christ establish a new pattern through your marriage. Choose to be the example for generations to follow.

Luke 9:59–60 AMPC declares, “And He said to another, Become My disciple, side with My party, and accompany Me! But he replied, Lord, permit me first to go and bury (await the death of) my father. But Jesus said to him, Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and publish abroad throughout all regions the kingdom of God.” Jesus presented this man with a choice. Jesus declared, to this man, “Become My disciple, side with My party, and accompany Me!”

Whose side are you on? When you choose to side with Christ, the old way of doing things die off. As you surrender to Christ, your heart changes, your taste changes—you change. When you are in Christ, He begins to mature you and develop you. When you choose to follow Christ, and become His Disciple, your desires change and you don’t want to cling to the lusts of the world. When you accept Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior, your life begins to transform from the inside out. Before God transforms your marriage, He transforms your heart. Let God transform your heart.

Let God heal your heart. Let the fruit of His Word radiate into the walls of your marriage. Let His Word be revealed in every aspect of your character and marriage. Let His Heart be revealed through you. Let His Love lead you and guide you. You cannot treasure what the world treasures.

Let His Word penetrate through every interaction that you have with others—including how you handle your family, friends, co-workers, and your spouse. Handle your spouse with grace. Handle the heart of your spouse with love. Your spouse is not the enemy.
