In the Midst of Silenceනියැදිය

When Silence Speaks
There are moments in life when silence surrounds us. Sometimes it feels uncomfortable, other times it feels necessary. Yet in those quiet spaces, God is still at work. Silence does not mean absence. On the contrary, silence often prepares us to listen more carefully to His voice.
Think of Elijah on Mount Horeb. He did not find God in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire. Instead, he heard Him in a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:1-12). That whisper was powerful enough to remind Elijah that God was near, even when everything else seemed still.
In the midst of silence, our hearts become more sensitive. We notice things we might have ignored in the noise of life. Silence is not empty; it is full of God’s presence. It is in those moments that He strengthens our faith, brings clarity to our thoughts, and renews our hope.
If today you feel surrounded by silence, do not be afraid. Let that quietness draw you closer to God. He is not far away—He is speaking in ways you may not expect.
Scripture
“After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” – 1 Kings 19:12 (NIV)
Prayer
Lord, help me not to fear silence but to embrace it as a space where I can hear You more clearly. Teach me to rest in Your presence and trust that even in the quiet, You are working. Amen.
