Reset and Recenter: A Christian's Guide to Faith and Technology

Who Do You Want to Become?

Yesterday you reflected on your screen time and technology use. Think back to your answers. Did you consider your notifications, your favorite apps, and your daily scrolling habits? It can all add up.

The way we use technology shapes who we’re becoming.

Your habits affect your thoughts, emotions, and sense of identity. Are your tech habits helping you become the person God created you to be? Or are they pulling you away from the life He’s inviting you into?

These questions aren’t designed to invoke guilt. Instead, they give us awareness of where we might need to grow.

Here’s the good news:

1. God wants to help us build healthier habits.

2. It’s possible for us to change our screen time habits.

But where do we start? How do we begin to reset and recenter?

We start by choosing to become more like Jesus. Not just on Sundays, but every day and in every area of our lives. We let Jesus’ life and love inform what we watch, how we respond to difficult people online, and when we disconnect.

That might sound complicated or impossible, but you can start small. Today, ask God to help you become more like Him in every area of your life.

Journal and Reflect

  • Think about your identity. Who does God say you are?
  • Who do you want to become? What good works did God create you to do?

Pray

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness. Help me to seek Your kingdom, Lord. I know that You have good plans for me, so please help me to trust in You. Help me to reflect on who You’ve designed me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.
