And Then I Grew Up...නියැදිය

Think of the most spiritually mature person that you know. Maybe it's your pastor, your grandparents, or a close friend. How do you think they got there? How do you become spiritually mature, and what does it even mean to be spiritually mature? The author of Hebrews directly links spiritual maturity and the ability to discern good from evil. This ability isn’t an accident; it is developed through constantly listening and following what God is saying. It is how we become spiritually mature. Spiritual maturity is not just something that is developed only through time. We become spiritually mature through the repetition of discernment and obedience.
How do we practice this ability? How do I know what God is saying and then follow through with it? First, become familiar with the basics of the faith. Let this passage serve as a study guide for Christianity. Read through Hebrews 6:1-3 and lay the groundwork for your faith by developing an understanding of what is mentioned. Second, ask God to help you distinguish between good and evil. When a decision comes up or an issue arises, bring it to God. Ask Him, and listen to what He says. Third, continue asking and listening. This process is only done through repetition. Only through constant and consistent practice does spiritual maturity happen. So begin by asking God, what can I be obedient in today?
