Mary Magdalene's Journey: 'Healed & Free' (Part 2)

Following the Healer

Mary Magdalene didn’t go on to just live her own life after her healing (like so many others did)—she stayed close to Jesus. Luke 8:1–3 tells us she traveled with Him, helped support His ministry, and became part of His community. It showed in her daily choices, her presence, and her priorities. So, to Mary Magdalene, healing wasn't just about what we leave behind—it’s about what’s ahead!

When Jesus brings freedom, He also brings direction. He doesn’t just cast out darkness; He lights the path forward. In John 8:12, He says, “I am the light of the world.” That light isn’t just a truth to believe—it’s a presence to walk with. Mary Magdalene followed Jesus into a new life. We’re invited to do the same: one step, one day, one moment at a time.

Walking with Jesus doesn’t mean everything all of a sudden becomes easy. Mary Magdalene would most certainly still have faced doubts, dangers, and discouragement–as is also shown in The Chosen. But she knew what life without Him felt like—and she didn’t want to go back. Healing doesn’t remove all hardship but in Jesus, it gives us someone to walk with through it. Jesus doesn’t promise a smooth road, but He does promise to walk it with us.

Psalm 23 shows us a Shepherd who leads gently, restores deeply, and walks with us through every valley. God is patient. He doesn’t rush your healing or compare your pace. Like with Mary Magdalene, He walks closely and calls you His own.

What if your healing depends less on feeling strong and more on staying close? Jesus isn’t just your Healer—He’s your daily companion. Like Mary Magdalene, you don’t need to have all the answers. You just need to stay near the Light. Healing grows in the company of Jesus. Keep walking with Him.

What does staying close to Jesus look like for you today?

Mary Magdalene's Journey: 'Healed & Free' (Part 2)

Mary Magdalene’s healing is deeply personal. Jesus set her free from spiritual oppression and invited her into a new life. Over five days, we’ll explore Mary Magdalene’s story and what it means for us today, because healing isn’t an end—it’s the start of a journey with Jesus into freedom. Ready to walk with Him? You can read this plan separately, but it is also part of The Chosen's 'Test of Character' journey.
