REFOCUS MY FAITH + FUTURE
There are times when the future feels uncertain. Maybe your plans didn’t unfold the way you expected. Maybe you’ve been waiting on a promise for a long time. Or maybe you just don’t know what’s next. It’s in all of these moments that our faith is tested, and our vision can become cloudy.
Thankfully, our faith isn’t built on what we see. It’s built on who God is. He’s not thrown off by delays, disappointments, or detours. In the sermon Focused and Fearless, we are reminded that faith always grows in the direction of your focus! If you focus on fear, you’ll always see death. If you focus on faith, you’ll see life.
God’s promise to give us a future and a hope doesn’t expire when things get hard or when we feel stuck in the unknown. In fact, it becomes even more powerful. The real question is: will we trust Him with our right now, and lean on Him for what’s next?
Sometimes faith looks like taking a big leap, but just as often it looks like steady obedience in the small, everyday steps. The good news is that the weight of your future isn’t on your shoulders. It’s on God’s. He’s the One who began the good work in you, and He’s the One who will carry it to completion. Our role is simply to trust Him, stay faithful in obedience, and refocus whenever we start to drift.
Today, we ask God to renew our faith. We make a decision to fix our eyes on Jesus as we choose to trust the story He’s writing for our future.
Application/ Reflection
Take a moment today to reflect on how you’ve been viewing your future.
- Have I been rushing ahead, hesitating in fear, or simply feeling stuck?
- Take time to evaluate why you might be doing that, and then ask God: “What is the truth about my future?”
As God speaks to you, surrender what He’s calling you to trust Him with—big or small.
Prayer
God, thank You for renewing my faith today and encouraging me to correctly see what’s to come. Remind me that having You means I already have everything I need. The road ahead might not be easy, but I’ll trust You every step. Refocus my eyes when I start to drift, and help me stay anchored in Your truth. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Not all distractions are obvious; some are subtle shifts that allow you to drift without even realizing it. The good news? We can refocus. Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us that if we fix our eyes on Jesus then we’ll have the faith to focus. In this 7-day devotional, you’ll pause each day to refocus specific areas of your life and realign with the vision God has for you.
