God Is With Usනියැදිය

God wants to dwell in us
“Jesus answered him, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.’” (John 14:23 ESV)
Jesus promised His disciples that He would not leave them alone. He will remain with them. In fact, He will be closer to them than ever before. The triune God, consisting of the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit, desires to “make His home” with every believer. He is not merely visiting. He does not keep an eye on us from a distance to see how we are doing. No, He wants to dwell in us and fill us completely with Himself. Every moment of every day, He is with us and in us.
That sounds even more incredible than the fact that God became man to dwell among us. Imagine: the Father, the Son, and the Spirit want to move into your heart. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him,” He promises in Revelation 3:20 (ESV). This is how God bridges the distance, despite the fact that He is not always welcome. What love this shows!
When God dwells in us, there will be regular friction with sinful desires that still have a place in our hearts. The two are incompatible! Do you notice this ‘clash’ in your life? How do you deal with it?
