RETURN to ME: Reading With the People of God #16නියැදිය

In Hosea 2:1–13, we witness the heartbreak of a God whose people have wandered far from Him. Israel's unfaithfulness is described in raw, personal terms—like a spouse chasing false lovers, forgetting the One who first loved her. God’s response is not indifference but loving discipline. His desire is not punishment for punishment’s sake, but restoration. His longing is clear: “Return to Me.”
In Mark 1:21–45, we see the heart of that same God in the person of Jesus—teaching with authority, driving out evil, healing the sick, and even touching the untouchable. Jesus steps into the brokenness with compassion and power. The God who called His people back in Hosea now walks among them, making restoration possible.
As you reflect on these passages, hear the call of a faithful God who still pursues, still heals, and still says, “Return to Me.” Whether you’re wandering or weary, His arms are open.
Where have you been chasing lesser loves or carrying silent burdens? Return—He is near.
