Change My Mind - Standing With Jesus in a Confusing Worldනියැදිය

Have you ever looked at the world around you and felt overwhelmed by the multitude of changing ideas, beliefs, and opinions? It seems like everywhere we turn, there’s confusion about what’s true and what’s not. Many of these ideas are presented as a choice between “loving” or “hating” others, and it can feel impossible to navigate.
In the face of everything you hear, see, and feel, you need to ask yourself two critical questions: “What do I believe?” and “What is truth?”
KNOW WHAT YOU STAND FOR
The old saying goes, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything." Jesus takes it even further. He doesn’t just want us to stand for truth; He calls us to stand out.
Jesus’ light always exposes darkness. That was true when He walked the earth, and it’s true today. He stood against sin, called out hypocrisy, and offered a better way to live. His life is our example.
JESUS UNDERSTANDS OUR STRUGGLES
It’s easy to feel alone when we face hard questions or challenges. But Jesus has been where we are.
- Identity? Jesus faced it.
- Rejection? He lived it.
- Unpopularity? He experienced it.
When we’re wondering where to stand, the question isn’t, “Where do I stand?” It’s, “Where does Jesus stand?” And if Jesus has already stood there, will you stand with Him?
WHEN THE TRUTH IS UNCOMFORTABLE
Following Jesus means staying with Him, even when it’s unpopular. John 6 captures a powerful moment when many people turned away from Jesus because His teachings were too hard:
"At this point, many of his disciples turned away and deserted him. Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, ‘Are you also going to leave?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God.’”
When the crowd leaves, Jesus looks at you and asks, “Are you going with them?”
When your views are labeled as outdated or harmful.
When it feels like standing with Jesus costs too much.
Remember, there’s nowhere else like Jesus.
WHAT DOES STANDING WITH JESUS LOOK LIKE?
Before we can share the truth with others, we need to know it ourselves. This isn’t about arguments or debates. It’s about asking, “What does Jesus believe?” and aligning our lives with Him.
Some hard questions include:
What does the Bible say about sexuality, gender, and identity?
Is abortion evil?
Is sex before marriage wrong?
Is pornography harmless?
These aren’t easy questions, but the Bible has answers. Following Jesus means trusting His Word:
God created man and woman.
All life is sacred, no matter how it begins.
Jesus is the only way to salvation.
Sex and intimacy are spiritual acts, designed for marriage between a man and a woman.
If you find yourself wrestling with these truths, know that Jesus offers grace. No matter where you stand right now, He loves you.
ARE YOU READY TO FOLLOW JESUS?
Standing with Jesus isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. One day, we’ll all stand before God and answer for our lives. Will you be able to say, “Yes, I followed You when You called”?
Are you ready to go deeper? To follow Jesus into uncharted territory? It won’t always be comfortable, but His way leads to eternal life.
