Enduring Work: Part V
Bezalel was a craftsman who modeled enduring work. In this series we’re discussing the different attributes that made Bezalel’s work so lasting.
The final attribute is knowledge the culmination of all the other abilities.
My mother’s nursing home called about my mother’s medications. I asked Kathy to speak to her, because I didn’t understand what she was talking about.
Had the nursing home called about mom’s finances, I would have been knowledgeable and engaged.
Proverbs 24:3-4 teaches, “By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” (ESV)
The world is an expansive place with truly millions of viable areas of study. Having complete knowledge, therefore, cannot be an expectation. Yet, with enough people and enough time, a strong base of knowledge can be attained. The need for knowledge enforces the need for community.
Each of us learn differently. There are aspects about our job that we absorb better than others. Relying on community to navigate your business is both a Godly and highly effective strategy. Use the knowledge and style of learning God has given you to help others and produce enduring work.
Questions For Reflection
- How can you expand your knowledge base? Do you make continual learning a priority? Do you have programs available for the continual learning of your employees?

Solomon’s story is a powerful reminder that even the wisest and most blessed among us can falter when our hearts drift from wholehearted devotion to God. Despite building the temple and experiencing God’s presence, Solomon allowed compromise and divided loyalties to take root, leading him away from the One who had given him everything. His journey calls us to examine our own lives, to guard against the subtle pull of lesser loves, and to seek a faith that endures—anchored in worship, obedience, and an undivided heart for God.
