The Book of Ruth With Bianca Juarez: A 7-Day RightNow Media Devotionalනියැදිය

What is the craziest prayer you’ve seen God answer? What were you specifically asking for, and how did God provide?
God answers prayers. Most of us will agree that that’s true. But He doesn’t always answer our prayers or provide for us in the way we expect. In the last session, we learned about Naomi and Ruth’s desperate situation. Now, after returning to Bethlehem with no husbands, money, or food, we’ll see in this session how God begins to provide for them.
Reflect
As we discussed last time, God works in the background of Ruth’s story. He happened to lift the famine just in time for the barley harvest. And Ruth just happened to find herself in Boaz’s field. The author hints at God’s activity—He’s working even if the characters don’t see it. Are you currently in a situation where it’s hard to see God’s movement? What could you do to train your eyes to see the work God’s doing in your life?
Naomi and Ruth needed God to provide for their basic material needs. As we’ll see, God was faithful to do just that. When is it difficult for you to trust that God will provide for you? For what reasons? How has God answered your prayers for provision in your life, and how can those instances help you trust Him in the future?
Respond
Just as we learned in the first session, God was on the move in Naomi and Ruth’s lives. It just so happened that Ruth ended up in Boaz’s field. God works in the same way in our lives today. Even in the monotony, God might be orchestrating something of significance in your life right now.
Think about a time in your life when God provided for your needs. Reflect on what God taught you and how He matured you through that situation. Thank Him for caring for you.

No one knows the feeling of abandonment more than Ruth and Naomi. Their story begins with the worst—death, famine, and poverty. But the book of Ruth doesn’t end with despair. The story brims with hope because God works on behalf of the two widows in ways they least expect. In this 7-part series, Bianca Juárez teaches through Ruth to show how God moves behind the scenes in our lives. On the surface, this book tells the story of two widows and a kind landowner. Even more, it teaches us about God’s faithfulness, love, and providence.
