Pathways to Purposeනියැදිය

In 1 Samuel 16, God sends Samuel to anoint the new king of Israel. When Samuel sees Jesse’s eldest son, Eliab, he assumes he’s the one, but God quickly reminds him that He looks beyond outward appearances. The truth is, we often judge by what we see—talent, status, or appearance—but God evaluates the heart. He saw David, the youngest son, as a man after His own heart, and that’s who He chose to lead His people. This story encourages us to focus on what truly matters: a heart that is aligned with God. Just like David, you may feel overlooked or underestimated, but God sees you and knows your heart. He has a plan for you, not based on the world’s standards, but on His divine purpose for your life.
Today, reflect on your heart before God. Is there an area where you’re seeking validation from the world instead of aligning with God’s calling? Ask Him to help you cultivate a heart that pleases Him, trusting that He sees and values you.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for seeing my heart and not just my outward appearance. Help me to live in a way that honors You and trust in Your plans for my life. Amen.
