Blessed: Unlocking the Power of the Beatitudesනියැදිය

I am a Child of God [PEACEMAKER]
There are two places in the Gospels where we are specifically told what makes us children of God. The first is today’s verse in the Beatitudes and the second is John 1:12.
John 1:12 - But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (NLT)
What is most striking to me, is that the second one in John 1:12 is quoted and referenced in Christendom far more than the first which Jesus specifically said. Perhaps it is easier to believe than to actively be a peacemaker? But the words of Christ are the words of Christ. To be called a child of God we are to be peacemakers.
Peace is one of those things where today’s culture and the Bible use the same word but mean two totally distinct and separate things. Culture teaches that we should do whatever it takes to protect our peace. This implies a slightly selfish and standoff view of peace. Ours is a different kind of peace. We are to work at living in peace with all people.
Hebrews 12:14 - Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. (NLT)
Our peace is active and involving. It is not restrictive. It does not exclude people but works to resolve tension. As with everything Jesus taught, this type of peace is counter-cultural, revolutionary and thought-provoking. Help us, Lord!
Questions for reflection: Am I a peacemaker or a protector of my peace? Have I asked the Holy Spirit to help me work at living in peace with everyone?

What if true blessing isn’t about wealth, success, or comfort—but about something far greater? In the Beatitudes, Jesus reveals a powerful, countercultural way to experience God’s kingdom in everyday life. Over the next nine days, we’ll dive deep into what it means to be poor in spirit, how mourning brings comfort, why meekness leads to inheritance, and how hungering for righteousness fills our souls. We’ll also explore mercy, purity, peacemaking, and the reality of persecution. Through reflection, scripture, and real-life application, this plan will challenge and transform your understanding of what it truly means to be blessed.
