Gospel of John Student Devotionalනියැදිය

During His last few hours, Jesus prayed for those around him, asking for their security during his uncertainty. How often do we pray for others when we’re feeling confused or overwhelmed? For me, it’s not often enough. When I’m facing difficulties, I tend to focus on my own needs rather than considering others. Jesus reminds us that we have no reason to worry because God will protect us. So, if there is nothing to fear, why stay trapped in worry and anxiety?
Instead of worrying, we should choose to worship God in times of uncertainty, knowing he is working through us. All we need to do is be still and listen. In our moments of doubt, let us remember that Jesus has already overcome the world. There is no pain, no sin, and no uncertainty that He hasn’t defeated through His death on the cross.
During his final moments on Earth, when the world was full of uncertainty, Jesus chose not to give in to the lies around him. Instead, he turned to God. In a time when he could have questioned everything, Jesus stayed strong in his faith, trusting that God would carry Him home.
Jesus promised that we will face hardships, but he also reassured us that we will never face them alone. God will walk with us through every situation. He doesn’t need us to have the biggest platform, the best friends, or be the most popular. What he wants is for us to follow his word, share the gospel, and trust that He is good and will guide us through life’s challenges.
In His final hours, Jesus didn’t focus on Himself. He prayed for others—praying for their safety and peace during uncertain times. How often do you pray for others when you're struggling with confusion? For me, it's easy to focus on my own needs, but Jesus teaches us to pray for others, even when we are facing difficulties ourselves. He reminds us that there’s no need to worry because God is always protecting us. If we don’t need to fear, why should we stay in a constant state of worry and anxiety?
Instead of worrying, we should worship God in moments of uncertainty, trusting that He is at work through us. We need only to be still and listen. In those moments, remember that Jesus has already overcome the world—there is no pain, no sin, and no uncertainty that he didn’t defeat on the cross.
What is one area of uncertainty that you need to surrender to God today?
