Day 2: The Spiritual Lungs
In Hebrew, the word for breath is ruach (רוּחַ), which means breath or spirit. Take a moment and think about the wind. Can you see the wind? No. Can you see the evidence of wind? Yes.
Although you cannot see the wind, you can feel its evidence. The same is true of your breath. You cannot see your breath. Yet, you can see the chest rise and fall and feel the warmth of breath leaving the body. The spirit and breath are deeply rooted together.
The Spirit of God is just like the wind and our breath. Our physical eye may not see Him, but we can see the evidence of Him working in our lives. We can even feel His presence when we worship Him. We can feel His breath working within us when we connect to Him. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are omnipresent and are with us. We serve a God who adds and multiplies. As we align our spirit to His Spirit, He will increase us in supernatural ways.
Reflection:
Take 5 minutes and go outside. Be intentional about noticing the wind. When you feel it, close your eyes. While you feel the wind, focus on your breathing. For 5 minutes, just marvel at our Creator. When you are done, come back and write down anything you experienced.
