Prepare the Way: A 21-Day Reading Plan Through John by Justeina Brownleeනියැදිය

Day 4: Open Your Eyes
Read John 4
In John 4, after Jesus speaks with the Samaritan woman at the well, He tells His disciples, "Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." While the disciples were focused on food and everyday needs, Jesus shifted their attention to the spiritual needs around them.
The woman at the well, after realizing Jesus is the Messiah, immediately goes to tell her town about Him, inviting them to "come and see." Her boldness leads many to meet Jesus and believe in Him. This is a powerful example of how new believers can share their faith right away, even if they don’t have everything figured out.
Jesus' Message to His disciples—and to us—is that the harvest is ready now. There are people around us every day who need to hear about God's Love, but we can miss these opportunities if we're only focused on our own concerns.
Jesus calls us to "open our eyes" and see beyond the surface, recognizing the spiritual needs of those around us. When we do, we become more aware of the opportunities to share His Love and bring people closer to Him.
Reflection Questions:
- Who in your life might be ready to hear about Jesus? How can you be open to sharing with them?
- How can you become more spiritually aware of the needs around you in your daily life?
