Living in Increase (Part 1) - Increase in Understandingනියැදිය

The Power of Joy
The Fruit of the Spirit results from having the Spirit of God inside us. Reading and studying Scripture is the catalyst to experiencing joy in our lives because it helps us understand God better! The Bible is a story of love, redemption, and hope. God loved the world so much that He prepared a perfect sacrifice to save the world and give the gift of eternal life (John 3:16). In this, we should rejoice!
It is important to note that joy is a choice. We must renew our minds through the washing of the Word to have joy (Romans 12:2). Conforming to the patterns of this world brings unrest, torment, depression, and hopelessness. Joy can’t be found in our possessions or temporary things. It is unwavering and steadfast. It is the expected outcome of a heart and mind fixed on Christ.
After Jesus tells the disciples that He is “the vine and [they] are the branches,” He says, “These things I have spoken so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full” (John 15:1-11). Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always.” This joy is not worldly but the joy of the Lord, which always remains!
God is consistent, unlike this world. When things go wrong, His joy strengthens us and gives us complete peace. If we remain in Him, we remain in joy. This means that despite our circumstances, we recognize that God has given us a reason to rejoice. He saved us, He blessed us, and we are His!
