Reading With the People of God #8 Peaceනියැදිය

Peace in Difficult Seasons
Scripture:
Isaiah 26:3 — "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You."
Reflection:
This year may have brought challenges—moments when peace seemed far away. Yet, even in difficult seasons, God’s presence sustains us. Looking back, where do you see evidence of God’s faithfulness during those hard times? How did He strengthen or comfort you when you needed it most?
Prayer:
Spend some time talking to God about the challenges you faced this year. Thank Him for His presence and sustaining grace through it all. Pour out your hopes and desires for the new year, trusting that He will continue to walk with you.
Sample Prayer:
God, thank You for holding me through the hard times this year. Even when peace felt far away, You were faithful. Help me trust You more deeply, knowing that Your peace isn’t based on circumstances. I give You my hopes for the new year and ask that You continue to guide me with Your presence and peace. Amen.

Fear touches every life—whether through childhood worries, family anxieties, or mistakes we try to avoid. But Advent invites us to hope for a new reality ruled by peace, not fear. The Son of God entered our broken world to comfort us, overcome fear, and bring lasting peace. May His gospel of peace fill your heart throughout this Advent season! This month’s reading plan follows the lectionary pattern with daily passages from the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament, accompanied by Advent devotionals in partnership with 1517.org on the theme of Peace.
