The Kid: An Advent Devotional for High Schoolersනියැදිය

Have you ever felt out of place or like you didn’t belong? Maybe you were the new kid at school, on your team, or even in your Small Group. Even if everyone was kind and welcoming in that environment, you still came in as the new kid, making belonging feel like a challenge. The good news? When we feel that way, we can look back to the very first Christmas to realize that Jesus has been there, too.

A threat to King Herod, who wanted all the power, the Kid had to flee to the small town of Nazareth to hide. He was the new Kid in a new place with new people. He found His belonging not in others but in God and those who followed God, too. So, when we struggle to find our place, we can remember the same thing, which is true for us, too!

Today, remember that God has a plan for you right where you are. When you feel like you don’t fit in or aren’t sure where you belong, remember that you have Jesus, someone who understands how you feel and wants to welcome you into His Kingdom with open arms.
