Don’t Come Down
In the battle of David and Goliath, the giant suggested that his opponent come down to him. These types of battles could easily have resulted in massive death; therefore, in order to reduce loss of life, sometimes, each side would choose their best fighter and let the battle be decided in this manner. Thus, Goliath’s request was nothing out of the ordinary; however, there yet remains some spiritual implications. The enemy will always try to get you to come down because he wants you to fight on his terms. He will use people to curse you out, in order to provoke you to curse. He will use people to scheme and connive against you, in order to instigate you to do the same. The truth of the matter is Satan wants you to become offended. He knows that offended Christians are unfocused Christians. He uses people in our lives in an attempt to make us come down and avenge ourselves; the enemy knows that he cannot defeat you when you remain in that spiritually high place. The Lord has us covered as long as we remain in the high place. The only way Satan wins is if we come down. Father, help your children; don’t let us come down!

This 8-day devotional is taken from a printed book collection 90-day devotional. Arise & Shine is not about fluff, but presents real-life situations and challenges and motivates us to work through them to become better for the Kingdom. The enemy wants to render us stagnate. If he can’t turn us away from God, he desires to keep us wavering in our faith, dwelling on the same negative thoughts, and responding to difficulty in the same manner. But it is high time. It is your time. This is your season to arise and shine for God!
