Staying Connected to Jesusනියැදිය

Jesus’ promise
‘If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you’ (John 15:7).
This is quite an exciting promise that Jesus made. He says this in the context of His parable about the Vine and the branches. 'Abiding in Jesus and letting His words abide in you,' means above all a willingness to receive what Jesus wants to give you! He gave his life to save you. His words give you what you need to live as His follower. His Spirit comes to your aid to keep on believing.
When you see yourself as imperfect, when you fall short and don't know how to become more like Jesus, you may ask the Father to give you what you need. Like a good Vinedresser, the Father gives you, through Jesus the Vine, everything you need as a branch to bear fruit and be a witness to the gospel. You may well struggle with that at times when doors in your life seem to close down and life is tough.
God does not always change your circumstances, but Jesus' promise is that He will give you everything you need to (increasingly) reflect God's image (Genesis 1:26).
What would you like to ask Jesus in response to His promise?
