God Is Fair
The people had lost any sense that the bad things they experienced were because of their sins. They always complained and placed the blame on God, calling Him unfair. God needed to use a prophet to show them and open their eyes that, although they blamed Him, everything they suffered was just a consequence of what they had done before.
Today, in our age, many of us also have this habit. We blame a God we consider "unjust" for not allowing us to live in peace, or for making us suffer. We forget that our sins bring us consequences and, at some point, that bill arrives. Before we look at God and blaspheme Him for our experiencing a supposed injustice, let us remember that God is the God of justice. It is not only valid for Him to take revenge on those who have done us injustice, but it is also valid for us to suffer the consequences of mistakes we have made.
Today God asks us: Are your ways right? Are you living straight and in accordance with what I want for you?
