Finding the Words

Have you ever been afraid to speak about God? Have you hesitated to respond to someone’s questions about God because you felt you didn’t have the knowl­edge or the understanding to respond appropriately? It’s easy to freeze up, not wanting to risk being wrong or saying something that makes us look foolish or ignorant.

But you don’t have to have the right words! Jesus is a flawless Teacher. If your heart is following His, then the Holy Spirit will speak through you. “The Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say” (Luke 12:12). Jesus said in John 16:13 that the Spirit will guide us into all truth.

So, when you’re feeling in over your head, say a little prayer, focus on God, know that He’s standing with you, and speak with love.
