Everydayනියැදිය

Our world today is consumed with gaining followers and wielding influence. Many of us are trying to gain more followers and likes on social media. Or maybe for you, it’s the amount of people in your friend group. Whatever it is, it seems like we can never get enough followers, likes, or influence. But what if that’s because we were never meant to? What if you weren’t created to carry the weight of even more followers? What if, rather than being the person someone follows, you were created to follow someone else?
Now we’re not saying to go and follow just any celebrity or the latest trend that comes along. We’re talking about following Jesus. We read in Luke that if we want to be followers of Jesus, we must give up our way of life and choose to follow His way. We must give up our desires so that we can follow the plan that God has for us. This is something we must do daily, and it is also a way we worship God. We worship God when we choose to follow after Jesus rather than following our fame and glory.
Think about one way you can choose to follow Jesus, rather than following your own way. Write it down on your phone or in a notebook. Then, commit to trying it this week.
