A Minute of Hope from the Psalmsනියැදිය

Teach Me, Lord—Psalm 32:8
Strong promises come with strong verbs, and Psalm 32:8 delivers both:
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”
When I need wisdom, I want to know that my Counselor knows what he’s talking about.
When I’m looking for advice, I need assurance that I’m talking to Someone who has my best interests at heart.
When my thinking has gone off the rails, I want to be guided back into sound thinking by an Instructor who is well-grounded in truth.
Every day, we are invited into the presence of God, and through knowledge of his Word, we grow in virtue and become rich in biblical wisdom.
Give thanks today for strong verbs that support strong promises.
Praise God for wisdom that ensures strong guidance, and then make the commitment to hold yourself before God and his written Word where those promises are found. They are living and active, and they are for you.

The Psalms were Israel's hymn book, and when we open our Bibles and begin reading and praying the Psalms, we find ourselves singing in the key of hope. If hopelessness is truly "a poverty of imagination" these short devotionals are meant to make a deposit to your account, to bring the poetry of the psalmist into your day for a minute that might change everything.
