Share your heart with Him

Prayer = Relationship. It’s an encounter with a person.

Jesus shares his “ugly cry” moment with His friends and His Father.

He admits openly what is really going on within Him and expresses a deep sense of vulnerability.

It might not fit the profile of the Messiah to be this weak and vulnerable, yet it creates space for a deep encounter with God and His friends.

This opens the door for you and me to be vulnerable with God and those close to us. It invites us to drop the formalities and share with God as we would with a close friend.

Exercise:

Write a letter, or a psalm to God, expressing how you really feel. As well as you can.

Prayer:

God, I’m asking for a deep awareness of Your love for me and Your work in me.
