Dig Inනියැදිය

What Is Discipleship?
Welcome to Day 1 of this six-day Bible Plan that’s all about digging in. Digging into what, you might ask? Into a pile of dirt? A sandbox? A giant roast beef sandwich?
Nope, none of those.
This Bible Plan is about digging into a life of following Jesus!
Digging into what Jesus teaches and following Him is called discipleship. A disciple of Jesus is a student of how to truly live God’s way.
Being a disciple of Jesus is a lifelong journey of walking beside Him and learning more each day. Jesus is in the lead and you are right on His heels. You’re uncovering more—digging deeper with every step.
This Bible Plan is going to teach you from the words of Jesus Himself, found in the Bible in John 8:31-32. You’ll read these two verses every day. You’ll learn what Jesus says it means to be His disciple.
Check out this video to learn a song that will help you remember these verses.
Pro tip: The video you just watched uses the NIV translation of the Bible. If you want, you could do today’s reading using that same translation to help you remember the words even better!
Pray: God, thank You for opening my eyes to see what it’s like to follow You. You said when we follow Jesus, we learn the truth that sets us free. Help me to learn Your truth. Help me to love You better, understand You better, and follow You better as I learn from this Bible Plan over the next five days. In Jesus’ name, amen.
