Being Rich in Godනියැදිය

Being rich in God
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it” (1 Timothy 6:6-7).
How can I get rich the right way? That is the question we asked ourselves at the beginning of this series. 1 Timothy 6 gives us clear teaching on that. You must not want earthly riches: it can lead to all kinds of foolish and harmful desires. Real wealth is: contentment, being rich in good works, generosity and willingness to share, righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.
Real wealth is rooted in the Trinity: the knowledge that God the Father has willed and created you, the assurance that you are saved through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ and the lovely presence of the Holy Spirit, who renews you every day in the image of Christ.
Real wealth is the assurance that you are gathering treasure, laying a good foundation, for eternal life. Real wealth is focusing on the living God, who provides you with everything in abundance to enjoy.
True wealth is both the enjoyment of the here and now and the focus on a wonderful future. This certainly does not mean that everything will go smoothly - the apostle Paul knew all about that and had to suffer a lot for the Gospel - but it does mean that you know your life is valued by God.

It is tempting to want to accumulate earthly wealth. It allows you to buy and do anything you want and secure your financial future. But the Bible warns against riches and points us to a wealth that is truly fulfilling and more enduring than earthly life.
