# Ascend At The Core—What is Ascend? You made it to Climb 2! We’re glad you want to continue learning and growing with us! It’s important for you to know the driving force behind why we do what we do at Ascend. So what is Ascend at the core? Ascend is all about Jesus! We want Jesus to be at the center of everything we do as a ministry. Our heart is to create an atmosphere where students’ lives are changed by the love they experience at Ascend, in turn shifting their culture towards JESUS. Pastor Chris breaks down the three key characteristics of Jesus that we focus on here at Ascend: 1\. Consistency—Jesus is consistent all throughout the Bible and in our lives, so we strive for consistency. We want to be authentic and reliable in all that we do as we follow Jesus’s example. 2\. Generosity—God GAVE us Jesus, His only son, and then Jesus GAVE His life for us! We give of our time, talents, worship, and finances, as we serve a God who is giving. 3\. Love—This is the core motivation behind everything Jesus did, is doing, and will do. Jesus is love, and if He’s the center of Ascend, then we are all about love. #### TRY THIS: Take 5 minutes today, and pray specifically about these 3 things we strive for at Ascend (Consistency, Generosity & Love). Ask God where you can grow in each of these areas. #### PRAY THIS: Jesus, I want to be consistent in my walk with you. Help me to be someone who is generous and loving. I know that if I want to see things change in my life I have to be different from the world, so show me areas that I can grow in. Amen.
