What the Bible Has to Say About Clothingනියැදිය

Being clothed in righteousness
“You were taught to put away your former way of life, your old self […] and to clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22-24 in the NRSV)
The apostle Paul explains how the Lord Jesus wants to make us completely new. This is necessary because we are all sinful. Our relationship with the Lord God is badly damaged. We naturally live in rebellion to Him. This way of life ultimately does not make us happy, but leads to death.
The Lord Jesus offers us a fresh start. He wants to forgive our sins. This also implies that we will live differently from then on. Paul compares this change to putting on new clothes. Our former way of life must be discarded, and we learn to think and act in a new way. That process is not always easy. Just as it may be hard to let go of our favorite worn-out sweater, it is also hard to break with bad habits and patterns in our lives. And yet this is desperately needed. For our "old clothes" are not suited for the great feast the Lord is about to give. In His Kingdom, there is no place for wickedness and sin.
Are you ready to change your wrong habits and start living the way God wants you to, in His power? Which habits should be changed?

You will not find clothing style advice in the Bible. Nor will you find the latest fashions. Yet God's Word has a lot to say about clothing: why we wear clothes at all, how we should dress, and how God offers us beautiful, spotless clothing to cover our sins. Will you read with us?
