MESSIAH Part Oneනියැදිය

From Handel’s Messiah -
8. Recitative
Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Emmanuel, God with us.
Isaiah 7: 14; Matthew 1: 23
Devotion: You are not forsaken of your God, how great so ever your present distress and danger are; for of your nation, of your family, the MESSIAH is to be born, and you cannot be destroyed while that blessing is in you. Isaiah 7: 14
Joseph is told that Mary should bring forth the Savior of the world. He was to call his name Jesus, a Savior. Jesus is the same name with Joshua. And the reason of that name is clear, for those whom Christ saves, he saves from their sins; from the guilt of sin by the merit of his death, and from the power of sin by the Spirit of his grace. Matthew 1: 23
