The Last Apostle | John 12: Anointing Jesusනියැදිය

In John 12, Jesus is anointed lavishly and embarrassingly by Mary. It hints at the second part of John’s story, which some writers call the Book of Jesus’s Glory or the Book of Jesus’s Hour (John 13-20). Lazarus died, and Jesus will too. Here we have a little foreshadowing of what Jesus will soon face.
Sometimes people get too practical with God. Feed the poor. Set up an endowment. Focus on what works. Put your energy to good use. And there will always be those who critique what others do.
But God is worth gushing over. Extravagantly. Embarrassingly. How much do you love Jesus? How far will you go to show it? What holds you back?

Near the end of his life, John was the last of the living apostles and wrote a story about Jesus. It’s his testimony of who Jesus is, what he said, what he did, and who he claimed to be. Jesus has a story. He invites us to make it our story. When we make Jesus’s story our story, we have life in his name. This plan focuses on the first eight verses of John 12. It is part of an ongoing series through John.
