Expecting the One With Many Namesනියැදිය

JESUS, SAVIOR OF THE WORLD
People who lived during the Great Depression understand the meaning of ‘Sacrifice.’ People learned to do without things that would make them comfortable. To sacrifice something is to give it up; spiritually speaking, we are willing to give it up as an offering of worship to God. Today we give our tithe and offerings, time, and talents as a sacrifice. Interesting that scripture in Romans tells us that our bodies should be a living sacrifice.
“And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and ‘sacrifice’ to God.” Ephesians 5:2
One of the most beautiful names of Jesus is that of ‘Savior!’ If Jesus had not willingly gone to the cross and risen again, we would be lost eternally. Daily we should be praising Him as our wonderful Savior!
“And my spirit rejoices in God ‘my Savior.” Luke 1:47
LET US PAUSE:
Can you think of anything in your life that you know you saved from death? Perhaps you were a hero and pulled someone out of the depth of water from drowning, or you are a firefighter or a policeman and were able to help spare a life.
Jesus paid for our eternity with His life, becoming our Savior. We may never physically have to pull a human from death to life, but we all have the opportunity of eternally being a part of spreading the word about Jesus, our Savior!

Jesus was born over 2000 years ago! His Mother, Mary, was expecting the birth of her son Incarnate! Today, we too are 'expecting' Jesus, not as a baby, but as the One honored with so many names. In this 27-day Advent Devotional, let us go more profound as we discover Jesus through His many names that reveal His character! He is our soon-coming King!
