Year of the Bible: Part Nine of Twelveනියැදිය

Jesus, the Seed of the Woman
Can you imagine the agony Mary must have felt as she watched her son suffering the terrible death of crucifixion? Mary knew Jesus was the Messiah, the Savior of the world. She probably wrestled with the tension between what she felt and what she knew was true.
Jesus crushed the serpent's head, fulfilling God's plan to redeem the world. In Genesis 3:15, God preached the gospel (the "good news"), telling Adam and Eve that the seed of the woman would bruise the head of the serpent that had deceived them and robbed them of their true identity and relationship with God.
In the garden, Satan deceived the woman, and she permitted the enemy to sow a lie that would ultimately be humanity's demise. Yet, the God of redemption is using a seed He planted in a woman to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross (Colossians 1:20). Jesus was the seed of promise! We can trust that while Satan attempts deception and destruction, God is simultaneously working for our good, and His plan always prevails.
Question: What is a lie you are struggling with?
Prayer focus: Pray for the overcoming power of truth to crush any lies over your life today!
