The Jesus Bible Reading Planනියැදිය

SON OF GOD
In the Old Testament, Moses asked God to show him his glory to confirm his calling on Moses’ life (Ex 33:18 – 23). God could not fully reveal his glory to a mere man, so God showed Moses only a shielded portion of his glory. It was so intense that Moses reflected that glory on his face for a couple of days (Ex 34:29 – 32).
In the episode of the transfiguration, God the Father showed his glory in a special way to Jesus in front of a few of his disciples. God revealed his glory in his Son to prove that Jesus is the Son of God, a title that is used often through the Gospel of Mark (here; 3:11; 5:7; 13:32).
Both the sun and the moon give light so that people can see, but the moon only reflects the sun’s light and shines just a fraction of it into the world. In a similar way, Moses was like the moon, but Jesus, the Son of God and the full revelation of God himself, reflects God’s brilliant and blazing presence: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being” (Heb 1:3).
Jesus, I can’t even imagine beholding you in all your glory. Please show me a portion I can handle today, so that I may reflect your glory to others. Amen.
