Before Jesus, we were trapped by sin and not just trapped but truly spiritually dead. Then Jesus came along and breathed life in us. He brought us back to life! Now, we’re no longer living for ourselves, but we’re living for and in Christ. This doesn’t mean Jesus will tell you every little detail of your life and control you, but it does mean you and I are living for His purpose, and you and I are yielding to God’s will as a priority. He gives you dreams and ability and wants you to run with it but have an open heart ready to pause, listen and respond to His leading.

Ask them the question and have them read the confession out loud. If they are old enough, they can read it, but they can help them understand the verse and how it applies to their lives.
