Day 5: Jesus and His Family Members
Our earthly relationships may include having a spouse, parent, child, or extended relatives. My understanding is that in heaven we will no longer have these specific, earthly relationships. Instead, we will all be brothers and sisters in Christ. We will be able to recognize others, but earthly relationships won't be necessary. Maybe, this is why Jesus made it apparent (while here on earth) that having a relationship with Christ is far more important than any relationship in the here and now.
As you review the following scriptures, you might think, “Gosh, Jesus was being so mean.” On the contrary, the heavenly view that Jesus wants us to have reveals that our priority and loyalty should be to Christ first.
Reflect on the following bible verses to further understand how to prioritize relationships with family members compared to our relationship with Christ.
