Break Trail

DAY 22 OF 30

[IMAGE CONTENT] When we think of the word "gratitude," chances are we're thinking of a really good dinner with turkey and football, or we imagine a long "thank you" speech at an awards ceremony. Both options can make us hungry and bored at the same time! Maybe "gratitude" reminds you of the time you were super thankful, over-the-top thankful, for something cool someone did for you. Either way, we typically think of "thankfulness" being connected to something special or significant. Yet, Paul, a follower of Jesus, took some time to teach us how to pray. He told us not to be stressed out or worried about things but to give them to God in prayer and always be thankful. That's right, regardless of how crazy life gets or how confused and hurt we might be, we must always find a reason to be thankful. So how do we this when we struggle with anxious thoughts or feelings? We try our best to use that same energy that has our thoughts on repeat to instead put feelings of gratitude on repeat. It starts small, maybe you can only think of one thing. And it is enough. What are you grateful for?
